Box Canyon & Eastside Community Park Playground Equipment

The City of Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Department is seeking your input regarding of the design of the replacement playground equipment at Box Canyon Park and East Community Park. The conceptual drawings can be viewed on the City’s website at http://www.ci.yorba-linda.ca.us/government/departments/parksandrecreation.php. The designs have been prepared in response to the input received at the April 16 Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting. The designs also incorporate information received from a survey conducted by a local resident.

I have attached the PDF from the City’s website so you can see the proposals.

Yorba Linda Park Rebuild

Box Canyon Park: The most common themes suggested were a Castle and Fort. The community also provided a number of ideas on the various types of playground activities preferred. As a result, the City Landscape Architect created four concepts for consideration by the public. Concept A1 is a Western/Fort theme; Concept A2 is a Tree House theme; Concept B is a Castle/Pirate Ship them; and Concept C is an Adventure Playground theme.

Eastside Community Park: Based on the public input, the community generally liked the equipment that was originally located at the park. However, City staff is seeking input regarding the addition of a Rock and Ridge Climbing feature and/or the addition of a Spacenet Climber at the park.

To Vote: Send and email to -  Enhance@yorba-linda.org

For Box Canyon Park, please include in your e-mail your personal ranking of the concept drawings. Please rank the drawings from the most favorite conceptual idea to least favorite conceptual idea. The number “1” is your MOST favorite, and the number “5” is your LEAST favorite.

For Eastside Park, please let us know if you would like to add the Rock and Ridge Climbing feature, the Spacenet Climber or both new features.

Deadline to Vote: The deadline to submit your vote is Sunday, May 10, 2009.
