The 1912 birthdays of the Girl Scouts and First Lady Pat Nixon, once the group’s honorary president, will be celebrated Sunday, March 14th. The 98th birthday anniversary will feature hands-on crafts, games, food booths, birthday cake and demonstrations themed to “Girl Scouts Go Green.”
Admission to the Library is free all day.
Pat Nixon was the first to invite the Girl Scouts to visit the White House and later became active in the organization. Years later at the Nixon Library, the Yorba Linda Girl Scouts planted “Pat Nixon Roses” in her honor.
Special opening ceremonies on March 14 start at 11am on the Library front steps with the Yorba Linda Girl Scout Honor Guard and remarks by Library, Foundation and Girl Scout representatives.
