Celebration and Rededication of the Yorba Linda Parks Damaged during the 2008 Fires

The City of Yorba Linda invites you to the Celebration and Rededication of the parks damaged during the Freeway Complex Fire.

On November 15, 2008, a devastating fire swept through the hills of Yorba Linda. In addition to over 100 homes destroyed and more than 80 properties damaged, Box Canyon Park burned to the ground with only one memorial statue and the basketball courts remaining. Also severely damaged were Eastside, Jean Woodard and Bryant Ranch parks.

The ceremony for all parks, Box Canyon, Bryant Ranch, Jean Woodard, and Eastside Community will be held at Box Canyon Park (23400 Foxtail Dr. 92887) on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. The Box Canyon playground will officially reopen and additional children’s activities will be provided after the ceremony. Due to limited parking, carpooling is encouraged and it is recommended you wear comfortable walking shoes.
