I'm going to have to side with the Linda Vista Parent, here. This situation was completely ridiculous. First of all, who sees what is obviously supposed to be a cute, made-up phone number and decides to CALL IT? Second of all, it should have just been kept silent, left alone. What kind of a parent is SO overprotective that they not only have to check out the phone-numbers printed on their children's t-shirt cartoons, but also has to announce to everyone that it is a number for a sex line. Laura is right, kids DO know too much. But it is because STUPID people make MOUNTAINS out of anthills! That's right, this wasn't even big enough to be a mole-hill. I would like to meet the parent that discovered this mistake, and slap her. And also give her child my apologies for having to deal with someone so obviously insane. We can NOT be so overprotective of our children that we shield them from the real world. And the harsh reality is, things like this are going to happen all of the time. All through our lives as well as our children's, so why not be mature and teach our children some responsibility, instead of perpetuating this immature insanity by making big deals out of every single possible sexual reference, or swear word in a TV show. There is a difference between not letting your 13 year old girl watch Gossip Girl (a wise idea, the show is mindless anyway) and not letting your child wear a t-shirt with a silly phone number on it. I bet this mom was also on the "Pokemon is really an evil cult" bandwagon. Makes me sick... And I think the T-shirt is cute, by the way. Perfectly good. No reason to spend unnecessary (and much-needed in other places) school funds to replace them.

This IS an issue at the school! I do not think our principal and teachers should see this as a burden. They should see it as having to correct a situation that really shouldn't have happened. Yes, it was a mistake. This mistake has caused problems. As principal, it is up to the administration to handle it.

I would like to know who the parent was that has made this a public spectacle? Was this done to advance there own agenda?? If we had just ignored this most likely nothing would have come of it other than the school having not be burdened with additional costs to replace the shirts. Plain and simple this was a un intended mistake. This should have been handled as discreetly as possible with NO fanfare. You have now burdened our Principal and staff with time consuming unnecessary issues.
