John Roberts’ Christmas Light Extravaganza in Yorba Linda

by Loren Nason on December 2, 2008

THE BIGGEST CHOREOGRAPHED CHRISTMAS LIGHT SHOW IN ORANGE COUNTY
TO BENEFIT THE SPARK OF LOVE TOY DRIVE.

John Roberts of 5360 Via Bernardo in Yorba Linda, California has produced a computer choreographed Christmas light show to benefit the Orange County Fire Authority Spark of Love toy drive. “This is the fourth year we have done the computer Christmas Lights and have had a tremendous response from our community”, according to Roberts. There are over 40,000 lights surrounding three sides of this corner house, including two 30’ tall mega light trees, over 1,000 feet of rope lights, dozens of Christmas trees, over a mile of cabling and an FM transmitter to listen to the music from the comfort of your vehicle.

Classic holiday music such as “Jingle Bells”, “The Nutcracker Suite”, “Carols of the Bells” and features from Trans Siberia Orchestra can be heard nightly from 7 pm – 10pm, beginning on December 5. 2008 along with a fun version of the theme from “Pee Wee’s Playhouse” until December 31, 2008

“The weekends are our big traffic nights with over 300 plus cars piled with families line up to see the show”, beamed Roberts. John Roberts can be seen nightly handing out candy canes to the drive up audience. Families will leave notes of thanks in the mailbox and write that they come by nightly to see the 15-minute show.

Here is a video I believe to be of Mr Roberts’ house from last year.
