4th of July is almost here and it’s time to celebrate this great nation we live in. I don’t care if you like or dislike any government officials you still need to get up off your duff and celebrate the Land of the Free.
Residents have been asked why the City is holding this celebration in the face of the significant economic downturn our City, State and Country are facing. The contracts for this celebration were signed a year ago and we are committed to pay the entire cost of this event. For that reason, the firework show will proceed but will most likely be cancelled next year. For that fact alone you better come this year because it might be a while before you see it again.
The Yorba Linda 4th of July Spectacular is the place to be. The Fourth of July entertainment begins at 4:00pm each year with food, music, games, and a fantastic fireworks show. Fireworks begin at 9:00pm and last about 20 minutes. For more information you can call -> (714) 961-7181
If you are attending the show please do not bring dogs or alcohol. You may want to bring a blanket or fold up chairs so you don’t have to sit on the grass, unless you want to. Bring money with you so you can eat some food and play games.

We hope to see you there.

Why is the City still holding the Celebration? Why would you ask? This is exactly what the City needs to do to keep the townfolk together. This is THE best city-wide event of the year! It’s free to attend, you can support your local non-profits, it’s a great social event, and support the good old USA. I rather support this event with my tax dollars than another committee or specialist or study, wasting our dollars for no apparant reason.
Come on out to Veteran’s Park and join in on the fun with your friends and neighbors and support the City.
FYI – I did not ask why and I am glad the city is still putting on the event. Other’s have been asking why and the reason was provided by Jan Horton.
Loren,
It was more or less a rhetorical question. I feel like this is an event that the community should be behind. I don’t know how much it costs to put on, it can’t be that much, but I feel that is is worth the expenditure. The City, in my opinion, wastes a lot of money of questionable items, but this benefits the full community.
