Prepare for Mudslides Even if None Happen

Tuesday and Wednesday we are forecast for lots of rain. The fires has left many areas of Yorba Linda prone to mudslides and debris flows.

Yorba Linda is planning on using Reverse 911 to notify residents of mudslides or danger zones. Reverse 911 is handled by Alert OC. AlertOC is operated by the county and uses computer databases of addresses to call large numbers of residents at one time. You can also register your cell phone to receive text messages. Lets hope that if needed the call goes out a lot sooner.

NASA published a satellite image of the burn areas of Brea, Yorba Linda, Corona, Diamond Bar, and Anaheim Hills. The descruction is amazing. Look at the big black spot in the middle of the picture. That is Chino Hills State Park. Credit OC Register Science Dude
