In case you have not heard, California is in a major budget crisis (and so is everybody’s pocketbook). Many school districts and now our own district will be eliminating almost/all summer school programs. I have posted the information below on the program changes/eliminations found here.
PYLUSD finds it necessary to modify this year’s planned summer program to serve:
* High school students in need credit recovery;
* Middle school eighth-grade students recommended for retention; and
* Special education students with disabilities—preschool through adultUnfortunately, PYLUSDwill not be able to offer our planned program for kindergarten through eighth-grade general education students this summer.
From what I understand from the notice is that ALL summer school programs will be cancelled except for these three scenarios:
High school students in need credit recovery
Middle school eighth-grade students recommended for retention
Special education students with disabilities—preschool through adult
