Yorba Linda - In God We Trust
August 25, 2008 by Loren Nason
During the last City Council meeting, council members discussed displaying “In God We Trust” in the council chambers. A vote was not cast allowing time to gather data and put out a report for public review.
Some might say this is a violates Seperation of Church and State. I say you are wrong and this is not the City mandating what church you must attend and what God you must believe in. This is just a city displaying what the believe.
Yorba Linda is home to at least 14 churches that I have counted. We are also home to the largest Quaker Church in the world, Friends Church of Yorba Linda
The city council has my vote to approve the display of “In God We Trust” in the City Council Chambers.

Jeff Holguin and Heather Bown both residents of Yorba Linda will be competing in the 2008 Olympics.

Jeff Holguin is part of the Shotgun National Team and will be competing in the Double Trap event. The double trap is when 2 clay pigeons are launched and the shooter has to hit both targets before they drop out of range. Here is an article about Jeff in the OC Register. Jeff’s profile page for the Olympics -> Jeff Holguin

Heather Bown is a member of the US Womens National Volleyball Team. Heather plays the position Middle Blocker. Heather’s profile page for the Olypics is here -> Heather Bown.
Did you know that Orange County athletes will contend for medals in at least 13 sports in China. Also, at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Orange County athletes won as many gold medals as Great Britain - nine. One more than Brazil and Spain combined.
If there is anyone else from Yorba Linda at the 2008 Olympics, leave a comment or contact us on our contact page.

Have You Seen The Pink Lady of Yorba Linda?
June 14, 2008 by Sondra Marie

Local legends and rumors of ghost and hauntings have been passed around for generations. Yorba Linda is home to their own ghost and local legend known as the Pink lady, who supposedly haunts the Yorba Linda Cemetery.
According to local legend the ghost of the Pink Lady pays visit to the Yorba Linda Family Cemetery on June 15th; every other even number year. The cemetery is now closed to public but at one time her legend was so popular hundreds would gather every year to try and catch a glimpse of her spooky image.
This Sunday, June 15, 2008 is the day she may be seen, if you believe. The question that will always remain is she or is she not real? And if she is, who really is the Pink Lady?
I found some really great information about The Pink Lady and the “mystical” history around her at these following sites:
