With road/bridge construction at Imperial Hwy & Esperanza the trains will start blasting their horns more than they seem.

Officials from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway have announced the possibility of increased use of train horns along their route from Fullerton to Riverside, including Yorba Linda. Maintenance crews are currently inspecting and repairing rails along the entire corridor. Per Federal regulations, engineers are required to use the horns whenever there are maintenance personnel working on or near the track ahead of them. The work will be taking place for approximately the next month.

Do the train horns bother you? They used to bother me when I first moved to Yorba Linda but now they actually make me feel like I’m living in the country side because of their muted sound.
I know a lot of you probably think I’m nuts but then you probably live a lot closer to the tracks and it probably is annoying. But think about this. The train tracks were in Yorba Linda before you decided to buy that house. If you don’t like train horns then maybe you shouldn’t live so close to them?

Train horns don’t bother me i love the sound
When I first moved to YL i didn’t like the horns, but now i think they are soothing
I like them from time to time.
It really depends on the situation. Generally, train horns are used in very annoying ways!
Wow. This makes sense. I have a newborn (well, 2 months now) and the first few weeks were so frustrating as I would listen to those horns between the hours of midnight and 3am… I actually counted and the horns would sound over 35 times for one train. One night there was 4 trains in one hour.
I felt extremely homicidal about it. Maybe it was the newborn though.
Thanks for cluing me in! Even though the horns don’t blow as much now! (Thank God!)
