I live at the corner of Via Bernardo and Dominguez Ranch Road behind Travis Ranch School. My little Chihuahua, Spot was in our backyard on Saturday between 7 pm and 9:30 pm. He was gone on our return home. We have a bigger dog too, but he was untouched. We are thinking it was an owl or other larger bird that snatched him from his yard. We have have three coyote attacks in our neighborhood over that last few months along with numerous amounts of decapitated bunnies found in our yards. Please make sure everyone does not leave their animals unattended.

From the OC Register:
In the last few weeks, residents in East Lake Village have reported coyotes killing a dog inside a home, entering a garage through a side door to attack a large dog, and stalking a small child.
East Lake Village resident Jody Martin said he was out by the neighborhood’s lake with his 3-year-old grandson last week, when someone started honking their car horn to alert them to a nearby coyote. The motorist told Martin that the coyote had been stalking the child for several minutes. ”When the coyote was down on his haunches trying to get between me and my grandson, it just scared me to death,” Martin said.
