To help residents who may have been impacted by the
recent fires in Yorba Linda, the City will be participating with the
cities of Brea and Anaheim, along with the State Office of Emergency
Services, to open a Local Assistance Center on Tuesday, November 18th.
Representatives from several other agencies will be available to offer
assistance. Some of these agencies include the Office of Vital Records,
Franchise Tax Board, Employment Development Department, Department
of Motor Vehicles, Department of Insurance, Contractors State License
Board and the American Red Cross.
Residents will be able to get counseling, food/lodging vouchers, insurance
information, etc.

Council Meeting:
There will be a joint presentation at the Council meeting tomorrow evening November 18th starting at 6:30 pm. The Fire Authority, Police Department, City staff will be there to discuss what happened in our community. Options: You can come to the Council meeting-It will probably be very crowded. Or you can tune in either on the cable channel or through your computer on the City of Yorba Linda website.
I would venture to say that this meeting will have lots of people looking to point blame at someone.
City Web Site:
The web site has been updated and includes many links to the various agencies working on this event, including the YL water District, Red Cross, OC Register, OC Fire Authority, OC Sheriffs Department, etc

It took Yorba Linda long enough to update their site about the fire information.
Jim, the mayor, was on KNX1070 Radio on Saturday night talking about it, saying that his staff was updating things, yet Sunday night nothing was on that website.
I was concerned because in my area it says we have to boil water before drinking it. I searched online for awhile last night and this morning. Finally I just called Yorba Linda Water in the morning and they said that it was only for the Hidden Hills area. I’m right below them though so we were worried. The OCRegister map made it seem like our area. Our neighbors thought it was for us as well.
