Yorba Linda High School Boundaries

by Loren Nason on January 3, 2009

Back in November PYLUSD held meetings to discuss the new boundaries for Yorba Linda High School.

In case you haven’t heard the mascot for Yorba Linda High School is Yorba Linda Mustangs.

The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District would like to thank all of the community for the high turnout to the Boundaries Community Open Houses held in November.  The purpose of the Open Houses was to share information and, most importantly, to actively listen to the public’s input.

The next step in the process is for the Boundaries Advisory Team to review the community’s comments as the team prepares a recommendation. The Boundary Advisory Team is comprised of district staff, principals and parent representatives from the middle and high schools. The group’s recommendation will be presented to the Superintendent before a recommendation is made to the Board of Education in February 2009.

The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District is in the process of establishing new high school boundaries in preparation for the opening of a new high school in 2009 that will relieve overcrowding at all of the district’s comprehensive high schools.  The new high school boundaries will take effect in September 2009.

Here are links to the current and proposed boundaries for the new high school.

Thank you so much for these PDF files. Fascinating to see how the city is working on this HUGE issue. But I wonder why there was no mention of Jr. High districting on these maps (showed elementary only) You would think they would be looking at which Middle schools feed into the high schools as well………

Thanks again. Still it looks like we will have to opt for a private High School since we are not to be districted for the new high school…
