Yorba Linda Library

Have you visited the Yorba Linda Library lately? I’ve lived in the city of Yorba Linda for almost five years now and while I have gone in to donate books to the Friends of the Library, I have never actually walked in to the main library.

I’ve forgotten how much I love libraries.

Today I went in with my ten month old baby to apply for a library card.  It was extremely easy, I just needed one form of identification with a current address on it, and I got the card two minutes later.  I was informed that I was a newborn and could only check out five books at a time for the first month and after that it would move to 35 books.  Wow!  Then I realized they had videos, CDs, and DVDs that you can check out.  This may not be new to you but I was pretty amazed. After browsing through their website just now, being able to request books online, renew books, and find online book discussions is right up my alley.

After walking around for about ten minutes and exploring the aisles, I realized that the upstairs is fully dedicated to children’s books. My three year old adores reading and I really need to make time to come back with her so we can wander through and snuggle with a new book.

Be sure to check out the schedule at the Yorba Linda Library for book discussions, book sales, story time, family game night, and more.

My only hope is that they don’t have a previous offenders list that is circulated around the cities because my old Anaheim Hills Library card might have a few dings on it.  This time I’ll be keeping my books in a safe place and making an alarm on my iPhone for the return date.  That will help, right?

I have lived in Yorba Linda since 2004 and in the surrounding areas (Anaheim Hills) since 1989. Yorba Linda is a wonderful place, we love it here! Currently a SAHM to Samantha and Griffin with a little Internet Marketing work on the side. :)
