YL Sunrise Rotary Club Foundation Sponsors High School Marquee

In September, the Members of the Yorba Linda Sunrise Rotary Club voted unanimously to sponsor the marquee at the new Yorba Linda High School.  The $30,000 gift came from the Special Projects Account of the Club’s Foundation.  The marquee, at the first-ever high school in the City of Yorba Linda, stands 17 feet tall, is emblazoned with the school’s name, incorporates an electronic message center, and proudly displays the Club’s name and Rotary International logo.

YL Sunrise Rotary Club will be able to have displayed on the message center information concerning Rotary and Rotary events including the Club’s premier fundraiser, Lobsterfest.  The 2010 all-you-can-eat fundraiser will be held on Friday, May 21 at the Yorba Linda Community Center.

“Creating a relationship with the new high school and assisting the school district during these tough economic times were at the core of our decision to make this gift,” noted 2009–10 YL Sunrise Rotary Club President Jim Resha.  “Over time, the marquee will become an information resource for students, their parents and local residents.  Add to that, the fact that our Club name and the Rotary logo will be displayed on the marquee and it’s a win-win situation for all.  It’s just a great way to invest in our community.”

YL Sunrise Rotarians pictured at the marquee are (l-r):  Nathan Chappell, Club President- Jim Resha,
